All interventions offered are used in accordance with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) who make recommendations to the Department of Health about most appropriate interventions for each psychological problem.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
CBT is one of the most effective and evidence-based psychological interventions used across the world for a range of different problems. In our sessions we would focus on breaking problems down into 3 core components – Thoughts (What I think) – Feelings (What I Feel) – Behaviours (What I do) and explore ways of implementing alternative strategies to problems highlighted within these areas.
CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy)
CPT is an evidence-based, manualised intervention which is mostly used to treat PTSD and trauma. In our sessions, we would be looking to explore your thoughts behind your experiences and if necessary – without the need to disclose the full details of the trauma.
EMDR (Eye Movement
Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
EMDR is an evidence-based intervention which is also used mainly to treat PTSD and trauma. In our sessions, we would be using bilateral stimulation (eye movements) to help process difficult memories, thoughts and feelings.
